There's real choice for eating out and superb drinking haunts on the West side of Mallorca. As you'd expect in the coastal hotspots, there's seafood restaurants galore! At Port d'Andratx you'll discover an excellent range of seafood restaurants, specialising particularly in shellfish! In Calvia too you're spoilt for choice with perhaps the best restaurant in Mallorca, L'Orangerie, set in an idyllic olive pressing room there.
You're more likely to be sampling traditional Majorcan delicacies on this side of the island, tuck into that paella on the terraza accompanied by spectacular sea views - heaven.
In Santa Ponca check out the Acapulco Cafe or a good Spanish choice of food. Find this on the roundabout at the end of the main street in Santa Ponca.
In Camp de Mar Bar-Restaurante Illeta situated on the rock in the middle of the bay. Find two superb restaurants also at Dorint, which is actually a luxury hotel with surrounding 18 hole golf course. One serves traditional Majorcan and Spanish food, the other offers international cuisine.
For excellent choice dine in Port D'Andratx. Check out The Patisserie on Avda.Mateo Bosch 19, ideal for coffee and pasteries. Love shellfish, and want good value, head for Rocamar on Avda.Almirante Reira Alemany 29. Head for the main square as well for the Mexican restaurant Maria del Alma (C/Cristobal Colon 8) and there are many bars along the harbour such as Tims and Mitj y Mitj or for a real laid back feel with sofas to sink into choose Cafe del Mar.
In Calvia there's some rather expensive, but excellent, restaurants. Check out Restaurant Sant Joan (Placa Esglesia 5) which has a terraza and offers delicious lobster stews. Check out the de-luxe Son Net hotel in Puigpunyent, where the restaurant L'Orangerie, considered one of the best on Majorca, is open to the public.
Eating and drinking in Deia is pure pleasure, which a varied choice. Check out El Olivo if you're looking for a real classy joint! Or Es Raco d'es Teix (C/Sa Vinya Vell 6,) for a real taste of traditional Mallorcan food, plus modern Mediterranean dishes. Sebastian on C/Felipe Bauza s/n) serves excellent meat dishes if ya like a bit o' meat, or sample the delights of Restaurante Jaime on C/Arxiduc Lluis Salvador s/n) which has a great terrace. For a relaxed atmosphere choose Sa Vinya (C/Sa Vinya Vella 3) on a narrow lane up from the main road.
Fancy dining down in the cove? For a fish restaurant with the beautiful location choose Ca's Patro March (hard to get a table here in the Summer!) - rather expensive but nice! For a cheaper option, yet still very good, choose Ca'n Quet (Ctra. Valdemossa-Deia) which has a great position within the hill-side. This restaurant serves loads of local produce
Soller is a bustling, social hub of restaurants, bars and cafes. Head for Placa de Constitucio for a cluster of small friendly bars and cafes. Try Bar Centro (Placa de Constitucio 17) which is ideal for light snacks and coffees. Or head for cool joint Bar Espanya. For fine dining choose Ca's Puers (the restaurant is within the hotel) which has an exquisite patio. For traditional Majorcan food choose Ca'n Antuna (C/Arbona Colom 4), known for it's superb soups!
