Playa de Muro is a little like Cales de Mallorca further down the east coast of Majorca. Both these Majorca resorts are fairly new. It's probably a good idea to have a Majorca hire car if you're located at Playa de Muro, as it's a bit stuck in the middle of the Bay of Alcudia.
But then again that might be what you're after, and with an all inclusive Majorca hotel, a beautiful blue flag sandy beach stretching for miles and a selection of bars and restaurants, but not loads, then this might well be your idea of heaven, especially for quieter Majorca family holidays.
Playa de Muro has become particularly popular with families, because of the choice of all-inclusive Playa de Muro hotels and of course the great beach. Playa de Muro makes the perfect Majorca family beach holiday, but it's worth noting that this new Mallorca resorts situated between C'an Picafort and Alcudia is pretty remote. Majorca car rental is recommended if you're thinking of getting out and about from your accommodation base at Playa de Muro. Public transport from this new Majorca resort is not good. If you're looking for a self contained Majorca holiday then Playa de Muro is a good option, but the local village is small with few amenities so check you're Playa de Muro hotel offers full or half board, with perhaps some in-house entertainment and amenities thrown in!
Alcudia Bay, with it's adjacent S'Albufera wetlands, is loved by families, particularly for the shallow warm waters of the beach. Playa de Muro can make a nice out of peak summer season cheap Majorca base for visitors wanting to explore the S'Albufera wetlands, and for walking holidays in North Majorca. Majorca car rental is highly recommended for anyone staying in Playa de Muro.
