Mallorca North & West Tourism Guide - Ca'n Picafort

Can Picafort is a small and friendly Majorca resort with real character on the eastern tip of the beautiful Bay of Alcudia. Can Picafort offers all the traditional Mallorca resort facilities, including superb sandy beaches, go-karting, lots of shops and bars and watersports.

You get a little extra though. Easy access to the S'Albufera Wetlands nature park, various historical sites to visit nearby including the Son Real Necropolis, and Can Picafort has an annual fiesta/festival which sits right up there with the best of Mallorca festivals. Most suitable for families with older children, and those who want a bit more than just a Majorca beach holiday.

Beaches Can Picafort

Beaches Can Picafort are two in total, and perhaps the best beach of the two is in the Baulo district, with it's adjacent nature reserve as well. There's quite a few bars and restaurants and a nice pedestrian only promenade, all with a laid back feel. This certainly isn't pulsating Magaluf, if that's what you're looking for. Can Picafort has two nightclubs only, but families will love the many all inclusive Majorca hotels in the resort.

Can Picafort benefits are much to do with it's location in the Bay of Alcudia. If you've hired a car then it's a perfect Majorca North base for branching out into the S'Albufera wetlands, great for birdwatchers. Why not bob upto culturally rich Pollenca, and take in some of the stunning Formentor landscape.

Can Picafort nearby attractions include the iron age pre-historic Iron Age/Roman burial ground of Son Real Necropolis, known also as the Cemetery of the Phoenicians. It's only a short 20 minute walk from the Son Baulo beach. Check out also medieval farmsteads at Son Real and la Alquiería, as well as the nearby Rectory and Parish Church in Santa Margalida dating from the 16th century.

Ca'n Picafort attractions include a great family go-karting complex. Find it at: Karting Picafort, Ctra. Alcudia-Arta, s/n, Ca'n Picafort, Tel: +34 971 851 282.
