Believe it or not Palma de Majorca Airport, Son Sant Joan airport, is Spain's third largest airport (you'll believe when you make your long hike off your plane to baggage reclaim!), and is only 8 kilometres west of the capital Palma, within the city boundary. Access to this international airport is easy by road, via the Palma-Santanyi motorway. Peak season is of course summer, goes a little quiet here in winter. Not bad the bus service in Palma de Majorca. Just recently they've laid on a night bus as well, so you can jet about Palma sampling the many restaurants, clubs and cafes at very low coast. Great for getting your bearings before branching out on foot.
